2nd ODI: West Indies defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets.

West Indies defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets in the second ODI of the rain-affected series to level the series 1-1. The second match of the 3-match ODI series was played in Trinidad in which the hosts West Indies won the toss and elected to field against Pakistan.

Three changes were made to the Pakistan team for the second match. Hassan Ali, Muhammad Nawaz and Muhammad Abrar were included while Faheem Ashraf, Sufyan Muqeem and Naseem Shah were not included in today’s playing eleven.

During Pakistan’s innings, the match was stopped three times due to rain and the innings was reduced to 37 overs. In the rain-affected match, the Green Shirts scored 171 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 37 overs. However, West Indies were given a target of 181 runs in 35 overs under the Dirkworth-Lewis method.

For Pakistan, Babar Azam scored 0, Mohammad Rizwan 16, Salman Agha scored 9 runs, Saim Ayub scored 23, Abdullah Shafiq 26 and Hussain Talat scored 31 runs while Hassan Nawaz scored 36 runs and Shaheen Afridi remained not out on 11 runs. For West Indies, Jaden Sales got 3 wickets, Roston Chase, Moti, Shamar Joseph and Blades took one wicket each.

West Indies easily achieved Pakistan’s target of 181 runs in the 34th over for the loss of 5 wickets. Roston Chase scored 49 runs and Justin Graves remained unbeaten on 26 for West Indies. Rutherford scored 45, Shai Hope 32 and Carte scored 16 runs. For Pakistan, Hasan Ali and Muhammad Nawaz got 2 wickets each, while Abrar Ahmed got one wicket.
