In the third and final ODI, Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 6 wickets to sweep the series. In the third and final ODI played in Rawalpindi, Pakistan won the toss and invited the visiting team to bat. The Sri Lankan team, playing first, was dismissed for 211 runs in the 46th over. For Pakistan, Mohammad Wasim Jr. got 3 wickets, Haris Rauf and Faisal Akram got 2 wickets each.
Pakistan easily achieved the target of 212 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan scored half-centuries for Pakistan. Fakhar was dismissed for 55 runs, Mohammad Rizwan remained unbeaten on 61 runs. Hussain Talat played an unbeaten innings of 43 runs. Pakistan won the first ODI by 6 runs and the second by 8 wickets.
