Pakistan Under-19 cricket team’s opening batter Sameer Minhas has broken a 13-year-old record previously held by former Pakistani opener Sami Aslam. In the final of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Under-19 Asia Cup played in Dubai, Pakistan defeated India by a massive margin of 191 runs, thanks to Sameer Minhas’ brilliant batting performance.

Against India, Sameer Minhas played a breathtaking innings of 172 runs off 113 balls, smashing 17 fours and 9 sixes. He finished the tournament as the top scorer with a total of 471 runs and was also named the Player of the Tournament. Earlier, Sami Aslam had scored 461 runs in the 2012 Under-19 Asia Cup. Additionally, Sameer Minhas’ 172-run knock against India is the highest individual score by a Pakistani batter in Youth One-Day Internationals and also the highest individual score ever against India at this level.
