In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Pakistan defeated the United States by 32 runs to register their second consecutive victory in the event. In the Group A match played in Colombo, the USA won the toss and elected to field first. Pakistan scored 190 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Pakistan’s innings began with a 54-run opening partnership between Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan. Saim Ayub was dismissed for 19 runs with the total at 54. Captain Salman Ali Agha was dismissed for just one run. Babar Azam scored 46 off 32 balls before getting out, while Sahibzada Farhan was dismissed after scoring 73 runs. Shadab Khan played a quick knock of 30 runs off 12 balls. For the USA, Shadley van Schalkwyk got four wickets.

Chasing a target of 191 runs, the USA got off to a good start with a 42-run opening stand. However, Andries Gous was dismissed for 13 runs, followed by Monank Patel who scored only 3. Shayan Jahangir scored 49 runs, while Shubham Ranjane top-scored with 51. Milind Kumar contributed 29 runs.The USA team managed 158 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. For Pakistan, Usman Tariq got three wickets, Shadab Khan claimed two, while Mohammad Nawaz, Abrar Ahmed, and Shaheen Afridi got one wicket each.
