Dhaka: The Asian Cricket Council meeting will be held in Dhaka today under the chairmanship of Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. An important decision regarding the future of the Asia Cup is likely to be taken during the meeting, while representatives of India and Sri Lanka could not reach Dhaka. It is felt that India has become isolated in the ACC as according to sources, the tournament is likely to be held as per the schedule in September.
Indian media say that BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla will participate in the annual meeting online. According to ACC sources, Sri Lankan board president Shami de Silva is unwell and will also participate online.
There are reports about Afghanistan and Oman that they will attend the meeting, representatives of the Afghanistan board are arriving in Dhaka at night. The Asia Cup is hosted by India but is facing uncertainty regarding the hosting in the UAE.
ACC Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had arrived in Dhaka yesterday. He meets Pakistani journalists covering Pakistan and Bangladesh series.
