Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by 6 wickets in the fifth match of the Asia Cup T20 tournament 2025.The match played in Abu Dhabi, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to field against Bangladesh. Bangladesh’s batting line-up looked to be in trouble from the start, with the first two batsmen Tanzeed Hasan and Parvez Hossain getting out without scoring any runs.
Captain Liton Das was dismissed for 28 runs, Mehidy Hasan scored 9 and Tohid Hardoi scored 8 runs. Zakir Ali and Shamim Hussain supported the team in difficult times and ahead the team’s score to 139 runs with a brilliant partnership of 86 runs. Both scored 41 and 42 runs respectively. The Bangladesh team could score 139 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
In reply, Sri Lanka achieved the target of 140 runs in just 14.4 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. For Sri Lanka, Nisanka was the standout with 50 runs while Kamil Mishara was not out on 46 runs. For Bangladesh, Mehidy Hasan got two wickets while Tanzeem Hasan and Mustafizul Hasan got one wicket each.
