Abu Dhabi: In the seventh match of the Asia Cup T20 tournament 2025, the host UAE defeated Oman by 42 runs to achieve its first victory. This Group A match in the Asia Cup was played in Abu Dhabi where Oman won the toss and invited the UAE to bat.
The United Arab Emirates scored 172 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Captain Mohammad Wasim scored 69 and Alishan scored 51 runs. In addition, Mohammad Zohaib scored 21 runs and Harsht Kaushik scored 19 runs. Chasing a target of 173 runs, the entire Oman team was bowled out for 130 runs in the 19th over. Aryan Bisht and Jitendra Singh were the standouts with 24 and 20 runs respectively. Junaid bowled brilliantly for the UAE, taking 4 wickets. Haider Ali and Mohammad Jawadullah took 2 wickets each.
This is the first victory for the United Arab Emirates, which is in Group A, in the event. Earlier, they were defeated by India in the first match.
