SBP to provide all possible support to Nooh Dastgir Butt for the preparations of his future international competitions DG Sports Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry
LAHORE (November 13, 2024): Commonwealth Powerlifting champion Nooh Dastgir Butt along with his father Dastgir Butt called on Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry at the National Hockey Stadium here on Wednesday.
Talking on this occasion, Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry said that Nooh Dastgir Butt has performed great feat for the country by winning 7 gold medals in the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championship. “Nooh Dastgir Butt is the pride of Pakistan and the whole nation is proud of his great achievement”.
Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry said that Sports Board Punjab (SBP) will provide all possible support to Nooh Dastgir Butt for the preparations of his future international sports competitions. “We are upbeat that Nooh Dastgir Butt will clinch the gold medal in the upcoming Asian Powerlifting Championship to be held next month”.
Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry further said that Sports Board Punjab will continue to encourage and support national sports heroes. “Sports Board Punjab is going to construct a modern sports arena for traditional games in Gujranwala”.
Commonwealth powerlifting champion Nooh Dastgir Butt, who has won 40 medals in different international competitions, on this occasion, has expressed his determination to break the existing Asia record in the Asian Powerlifting Championship.
Revealing his future events, Nooh Dastgir Butt said that he will also participate in World Championship in Germany and China next year. He also expressed his gratitude to Provincial Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar and DG Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry for extending him valuable encouragement and cooperation.
