The International Cricket Council (ICC) has reinstated Indian batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the latest ODI rankings. It should be noted that there was concern among fans when the names of both players suddenly disappeared from the list released yesterday.
According to media reports, the ICC released the ODI batting rankings yesterday, which did not include the names of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Rohit Sharma was second and Virat Kohli was fourth in last week’s rankings, but their absence from the new list has raised questions and speculation on social media.
Fans questioned whether it was a technical glitch or whether the ICC deliberately failed to update. An ICC spokesperson acknowledged the error and said, “There was an error in our rankings table which has been corrected immediately.”
The spokesperson further explained that the rankings of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been restored. It should be noted that both the legendary players last played one-day matches in the ICC Champions Trophy in the UAE in February 2025 and played a key role in winning the title.
