The International Cricket Council has released the new rankings of men’s cricketers. In the list of batsmen in Test cricket, England’s Joe Root has once again become the number one Test batsman after moving up one place, while New Zealand’s Kane Williamson has moved up to second place.
England’s Harry Brook has moved up two places to third, while Australia’s Steve Smith has moved up one place to fourth. India’s Shubman Gill has dropped three places to ninth.
No Pakistani batsman is in the top ten in the Test batsmen rankings, Saud Shakeel has moved up one place to 12th. Australia’s Cameron Green is at 30th place after moving up 16 places, while India’s Ravindra Jadeja is at 34th place after moving up 5 places and KL Rahul is at 35th place after moving up 5 places.
Among Test bowlers, India’s Jasprit Bumrah retains the top spot. Australia’s Scott Boland has moved up six places to sixth. Pakistan’s Nauman Ali is at fifth place. West Indies’ Shami Joseph is at 14th place after moving up 15 places. Four Australian bowlers – Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon – are in the top ten.
Australia’s Travis Head retains the top spot in the ICC T20 batsmen rankings. India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal has moved up one place to 10th. South Africa’s Reeza Hendricks has dropped two places to 11th. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are at 12th and 13th positions respectively.
In the T20 bowlers’ rankings, New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy retains the top position, West Indies’ Aqeel Hussain has moved up one place to fourth. Australia’s Adam Zampa is in fifth place, up one place.
Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga has dropped two places to sixth position, while Sri Lanka’s Nuwan Thisara has jumped nine places to 16th position. Bangladesh’s Rashad Hossain has jumped 12 places to 17th position. Haris Rauf has dropped two places to 20th position.
