New Zealand won the toss and elected to field against Pakistan in the second match of the five-match T20 series, but due to rain, the match was reduced to 15 overs per innings.
Pakistan’s first wicket against New Zealand fell for one run, with opener Hassan Nawaz out for zero, after which Mohammad Haris returned to the pavilion after scoring 11 runs for a total of 19. Pakistan’s third wicket fell for 50 runs and Irfan Khan was out for 11 runs, while after the third, the fourth wicket fell for 52 runs, with Khushdil Shah leaving after scoring just 2 runs. Pakistan’s fifth wicket fell for 76 runs and captain Salman Agha was out for 46 runs off 28 balls. After which Shadab scored 26 runs off 14 balls and lost his wicket for a total of 110. Pakistan’s seventh wicket fell for 111 runs and Jahandad Khan was out for zero while Pakistan’s eighth wicket fell for 114 runs, Abdul Samad could score 11 runs while the ninth wicket fell for 135 runs and Haris Rauf was run out after scoring one run.
One change was made to the national team for the second T20, with Haris Rauf returning to the team in place of spinner Abrar Ahmed. It should be noted that hosts New Zealand have a two-nil lead in the five-match series against Pakistan.
