The first match of the three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Zimbabwe was played in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, in which Zimbabwe set Pakistan a target of 206 runs to win.
Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl against Zimbabwe, Faisal Akram made his debut for Pakistan. Zimbabwe team was bowled out for 205 runs in 40.2 overs, Faisal Akram and Salman Ali Agha, who made their debut for the national team, took three wickets each. Haris Rauf dismissed a player while Abdullah Shafiq ran out a batter.
In pursuit of Zimbabwe’s target of 206 runs, 6 players of the Pakistan national team were dismissed for 60 runs. 21 overs of the match were completed when the match had to be stopped due to rain and the match had to be ended due to continuous rain.
Zimbabwe beat Pakistan by 80 runs on the Duckworth-Louis method.
