Pakistan defeated Bangladesh in second T20

Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 57 runs in the second T20 of the series to take a decisive 2-0 lead in the 3-match series. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat in the match played at the Gaddafi Stadium.

Opener Saim Ayub was dismissed for 4 runs while Sahibzada Farhan and Muhammad Haris shared a 103-run partnership for the second wicket off 54 balls. Muhammad Haris scored 41 off 25 balls and Sahibzada Farhan scored 74 off 41 balls, both of whom hit a total of 8 sixes and 8 fours.

Agha Salman was dismissed for 19 and Shadab Khan for 7. Hassan Nawaz played at a strike rate of 200 in the second match as well and played an unbeaten innings of 51 runs off 26 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 2 fours. Faheem Ashraf was dismissed for one run on the last ball, thus Pakistan scored 201 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Bangladesh’s Hassan Mahmood and Tanzeem Hassan got 2 wickets each.


In pursuit of the target, Bangladeshi opener Tanzeed Hasan started aggressively, but wickets were also falling from the other end. Tanzeed Hasan was dismissed for 33 runs, after which 7 players returned to the pavilion for 77 runs. In the late orders, Tanzeed Hasan played an innings of 50 and Mehdi Hasan Mraz played an innings of 23 runs, thus the Bangladesh team was bundled out for 144 runs.

Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed dismissed three players. It should be noted that Pakistan has won a T20 series on home ground for the first time in 4 years.
