Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in the second match of the 3-match ODI series. Pakistan achieved Sri Lanka’s target of 289 runs in the 49th over for the loss of two wickets and thus took a 0-2 lead in the series. In the match played in Rawalpindi, Pakistan offered Sri Lanka to bat first, Sri Lanka’s first four wickets fell for a score of 98, Samara Wickrama and Jayant Liyange added 61 runs for the fifth wicket, Wickrama was dismissed for 42 runs. For the sixth wicket, Liange and Mendes put on a 73-run partnership. Mendes was dismissed for 44 runs, Liange played an innings of 54 runs. In the last overs, Winandu Hasaranga played an innings of 37 runs to help the team reach 288 for 8 and he remained unbeaten on 37 runs. For Pakistan, Abrara Hamad and Haris Rauf got three wickets each.

Wasim Junior has been included in the playing eleven for the match.
