Pakistan defeated the hosts West Indies by 5 wickets in the first match of the 3-match ODI series to take a 1-0 lead in the series. In the match played in Trinidad, Pakistan won the toss against the hosts West Indies and decided to field first.
West Indies were bowled out for 280 in 49 overs. Eoin Lewis was the standout with 60 runs. Pakistan easily achieved the West Indies’ target of 281 runs in the 49th over for the loss of 5 wickets. For the Green Shirts, Hassan Nawaz scored 63 and Hussain Talat remained unbeaten on 41 runs.
