In the third match of HBL PSL XI, Peshawar Zalmi defeated Rawalpindi by 5 wickets. In the match played at Gaddafi Stadium, Rawalpindi captain Muhammad Rizwan won the toss and decided to bat first. Rawalpindi scored 214 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Rizwan and Yasir Khan opened the innings for the Punjabis and both the players showed excellent batting. Yasir Khan scored 83, captain Muhammad Rizwan scored 41 runs, Kamran Ghulam scored 37, Daryl Mitchell scored 23 and Sam Billings scored 18 runs. Fast bowler Ali Raza dismissed 2 players for Peshawar Zalmi.
Rawalpindi’s target of 215 runs was achieved by Peshawar Zalmi in the last over for five wickets. Mohammad Haris scored 47 runs and Babar Azam scored 39 runs for the winning team. Michael Bracewell scored 35 runs and Abdul Samad scored 33 runs off 11 balls.
