South Africa Defeated Pakistan in Second ODI to level series 1-1.

South Africa comfortably defeated Pakistan by 8 wickets in the second match of the 3-match ODI series to level the series 1-1. South Africa easily achieved Pakistan’s target of 270 runs in 40.1 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. In the match played at the Iqbal Cricket Stadium in Faisalabad, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first against the visiting team South Africa. Pakistan scored 269 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Salman Agha and Muhammad Nawaz stood out by scoring 69 and 59 runs, respectively.

South Africa blew away the Pakistani top order batsmen. Opener Fakhar Zaman was dismissed for zero, while Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan returned to the pavilion after scoring 11 and 4 runs respectively. After the loss of 3 wickets, Salman Ali Agha and Saim Ayub built a partnership and both batsmen scored half-centuries.

Saim 53 and Salman Ali Agha were dismissed for 69 runs while Hussain Talat left the team on 10 runs. In the closing overs, Mohammad Nawaz was dismissed for 59 runs and Faheem Ashraf for 28 runs. South Africa easily achieved Pakistan’s target of 270 runs in the 41st over, winning by 8 wickets. For South Africa, Quinton de Kock remained unbeaten on 123 runs, while De Zorzi scored 76 and Pree Torres scored 46 runs.
