In the 29th match of the ICC T20 World Cup, England defeated Italy by 24 runs after an exciting match. In the match played at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata, England won the toss and decided to bat first. England scored 202 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Will Jacks was not out for England with 53 runs. Tom Benton scored 30, Phil Salt scored 28 and Sam Curran scored 25 runs. Italy’s Grant Stewart and Krishan Kalugmague took two wickets each.
In response to the target of 203 runs, the Italian team also fought well and was dismissed for 178 runs on the last ball of the last over. Ben Menenti scored 60, Grant Stewart scored 45 and Justin Mosca scored 43 runs for Italy.
