In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, West Indies defeated Scotland by 35 runs thanks to a sensational hat-trick by Romario Shepherd. In the Group C match at Eden Gardens, Scotland won the toss and invited West Indies to bat first. West Indies posted 182 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs, courtesy of an excellent innings by Shimron Hetmyer, who scored 64 runs off 36 balls. Brandon King scored 35, Rovman Powell 24, and Rutherford contributed 26 runs.

While chasing the target, Scotland failed to cope with Romario Shepherd’s destructive bowling and were bowled out for 147 runs in the 19th over. Captain Richie Berrington was the top scorer with 42 runs. Romario Shepherd completed his hat-trick by taking three wickets on three consecutive deliveries in the 17th over.
