India defeated Oman by 21 runs in the final group match of the Asia Cup T20 tournament to register their third consecutive win in the event. Chasing India’s target of 189, Oman’s team scored 167 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
India batted first and scored 188 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Sanju Samson scored 56 and Abhishek Sharma scored 38 runs for India. Apart from this, Akshar Patel scored 26 and Tilak Verma scored 29 runs. Shah Faisal, Jatan and Aamir Kaleem got 2 wickets each for Oman.
In response to the target of 189 runs, the Oman team fought well but could not achieve the target. The Oman team scored 167 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Aamir Kaleem scored 64 and Hammad Raza scored 51 runs. For India, Pandya, Arsdeep Singh, Harshat Rana and Kuldeep got one wicket each.
With this win, India remained unbeaten in the group stage, winning 3 consecutive matches and maintaining the first position in the group with 6 points. The Super Four stage of the Asia Cup will begin from tomorrow. Pakistan and India have qualified from Group A, while Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have qualified from Group B.
