Former Pakistan batter Bazid Khan believes India’s star batter Suryakumar Yadav could be a weak link in the upcoming Asia Cup. Speaking on a local TV show, Bazid said that while Suryakumar scores freely against most teams, his record against Pakistan remains poor.
“He performs everywhere, but somehow against Pakistan, he hasn’t been effective. Whether it’s the pace attack or something else, it continues to trouble him,” Bazid noted.
The Indian batter, who will captain his side for the first time in a multi-nation event, has managed only 64 runs in five T20I innings against Pakistan. His average stands at just 12.80 with a strike rate of 118.51, and his highest score is 18.
Even in Asia Cup games, Yadav’s returns are modest — 31 runs from two innings at an average of 15.50. Pakistan remain the only team against whom he has failed to average above 30 despite his dominance in world cricket.
With India set to face Pakistan in high-pressure Asia Cup encounters, Bazid feels this weakness could be something Pakistan can target.
