India Beat South Africa to Win ICC Women’s World Cup title.

India won the ICC Women’s World Cup title for the first time by defeating South Africa by 52 runs. In the final played in Mumbai, South Africa won the toss and put India to bat first, who scored 298 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Shafali Verma scored 87, Deepti Sharma 58 and Smriti Mandhana scored 45 runs. South Africa’s Aya Bonga Khaka got three wickets.

In reply, South Africa could only manage 246 runs. Captain Laura Woolworth played an innings of 101 runs but could not lead her team to a decisive victory. She hit 11 fours and a six. Henrie Drachen played an innings of 35 runs, Deepti Sharma took four wickets and Shafali Verma took two wickets. The Indian team has won the ICC Women’s World Cup title for the first time.
