South Africa Wins Women’s Cricket Series

Lahore: South Africa defeated Pakistan by 25 runs in the second match of the women’s cricket series to win the series 2-0. South Africa gave Pakistan a target of 313 runs. Pakistan scored 287 runs in reply to the required target.

Pakistan won the toss and invited South Africa to bat first. South Africa’s Tazin Burts scored a century in the second match of the series as well. He used his strokes freely and scored an unbeaten 171 runs with the help of 20 fours and 4 sixes and remained not out. Along with him, captain Lara Woolworth also scored 100 runs with the help of 10 fours and returned to the pavilion after being caught by Fatima Sana on a total of 260 off Diana Baig in 43.1 overs. Thus, South Africa’s first wicket fell in the 44th over, with the opening pair’s partnership totaling 260 runs. Diana Baig gave away 45 runs in 5 overs and managed to take 2 wickets, except for her, no Pakistani bowler could take a wicket. Pakistan was given a target of 313 runs to win the match. In response, the Pakistani team could score 287 runs.


Sidra Amin played another brilliant innings of her career and scored a brilliant 122 runs with the help of 13 fours and brought the Pakistani team on the track of victory. Natalia Pervez also fought hard for the victory, she scored 73 runs with the help of 7 fours.

For South Africa, Nadine Clerk got three wickets, Choli Trion and Marizani Kip got two wickets each, while Masabata Klaas and Ndumeso got one wicket each. The third and final match of the series will be played on September 22 at 3:30 pm at the Gaddafi Stadium.
