Ireland defeated Oman by 96 runs. Match played in Colombo, Oman captain Jitendra Singh won the toss and decided to bowl first, which proved beneficial initially and 4 Irish players returned to the pavilion for 64 runs. After the fall of four wickets, captain Lorcan Tucker and Gareth Delaney played short all-round wickets and put on a 101-run partnership and Delaney was dismissed for 56 runs. Lorcan Tucker remained not out on 94 runs with the help of 4 sixes and 10 fours, while George Dockrell played a sizzling innings of 35 runs off 9 balls with the help of 5 sixes.

Thus, Ireland scored 235 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Chasing Ireland’s target of 236, Oman were all out for 139 in 18 overs, losing the match by 96 runs. Aamir Kaleem scored 50 and Hammad Mirza scored 46.
