Sri Lanka defeated Ireland by 20 runs in the sixth match of the T20 World Cup. The match was played in Colombo, where Ireland won the toss and invited Sri Lanka to bat first. Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 163 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted overs. Kusal Mendis remained unbeaten with 56 runs for Sri Lanka.
For Ireland, George Dockrell and Barry McCarthy picked up two wickets each. Chasing the target, the Irish team was bowled out in the final over. Harry Tector scored 40 runs while Ross Adair made 34 runs. Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga got three wickets each.
