In the fifth match of the Tri-Nation T20 series, Pakistan defeated the UAE by 31 runs to qualify for the final. In the match being played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Pakistan captain Salman Agha won the toss and decided to bat first against the UAE. However, while batting first, Pakistan scored 171 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub opened the innings for Pakistan, but the pair could not stay together for long and Sahibzada Farhan returned to the pavilion after scoring 16 runs and Saim Ayub 11 runs. Captain Salman Agha scored 7, Muhammad Haris 14 and Hassan Nawaz scored 4 runs.
However, Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Nawaz batted responsibly and increased Pakistan’s total, with Fakhar Zaman unbeaten on 77 and Mohammad Nawaz unbeaten on 37. For the UAE, Haider Ali got 2 wickets, while Junaid Siddique, Mohammad Rohad and Shroff Prashar got one wicket each.
It should be noted that the Pakistani team is playing its fourth match in the series, in which it won the first two matches while facing defeat against Afghanistan in the third.
