West Indies defeated Pakistan by 202 runs in the final ODI of the series to clinch the three-match series 1-2. Pakistan won the toss and invited the host team to bat. West Indies set Pakistan a target of 295 runs to win. In reply, Pakistan’s batting line-up proved to be a wall of sand and the entire team was bundled out for 92 runs.
Against Pakistan, West Indies scored 294 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs, captain Shai Hope scored 120 runs off 94 balls while Justin Groves remained unbeaten on 43 runs off 24 balls. Evin Lewis scored 37 runs and Roston Chase scored 36 runs.For Pakistan, Naseem Shah got 2 wickets for 72 runs in 10 overs, Abrar Ahmed got 2 wickets for 34 runs, while Muhammad Nawaz and Saim Ayub got one wicket each.
In response to the West Indies’ target of 295 runs, Pakistan’s batting line-up could not face the West Indian bowlers openly and the entire team was bundled out for just 92 runs in the 30th over. Pakistani batsmen Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafiq, Muhammad Rizwan, Hassan Ali and Abrar Ahmed were dismissed for zero. Salman Ali Agha scored 30, Hassan Nawaz 13 and Babar Azam 9 runs while Muhammad Nawaz remained not out on 23 runs. Naseem Shah scored 6 and Hussain Talat scored one run.
For West Indies, Jaden Sales got 6 wickets for just 18 runs, while Godakesh Moti got 2 and Roston Chase took one wicket. West Indies defeated Pakistan in the third ODI to win the 3-match series 1-2. It should be noted that West Indies have won the ODI series against Pakistan after 33 years.
