Sri Lanka A thrashed Pakistan Shaheens by seven wickets in the semifinals of the ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup. The match took place on October 25 at Al Amerat Stadium in Oman.
Pakistan chose to bat first but was unable to set a big target, finishing with 135 runs for 9 wickets. Omair Bin Yousuf was the top scorer with 68 runs.
Sri Lanka A’s bowlers bowled exceptionally well, particularly Dushan Hemantha, who took 4 key wickets. However, Pakistan Shaheens couldn’t stop Sri Lanka’s batters from reaching the target, which they easily achieved, losing just three wickets with 21 balls remaining.
Lahiru Udara scored a fiery 43-run innings, and Ahan Wickramasinghe scored 52 unbeaten runs, leading Sri Lanka A to victory.
This was a disappointing loss for Pakistan Shaheens, especially since their team included experienced players who had already played in the T20 World Cup. As defending champions, their early exit was unexpected.
