The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a talent hunt program in schools. Under the talent hunt program, more than 60 PCB coaches will conduct trials in more than 400 schools in 39 districts across the country. After which, a 40-overs-per-innings ODI tournament will start next month among more than 400 schools.
The top 100 teams from the event will play in the Weekend Schools League, the champion team of which will tour abroad. According to the PCB, the top performers from this tournament will also participate in the PCB Under-15 and Under-17 tournaments.
Director Domestic Cricket Abdullah Khurram Niazi says that the PCB will provide all the funding for the Schools Talent Hunt program, through which children will play cricket along with education. He said that the PCB will develop 168 school grounds across the country.
