In the Asian Games hockey, Pakistan defeated Oman by seven goals to two and qualified for the semi-final. In the quarter-final being played in Japan, the Pakistani team played aggressively from the start and at half-time Pakistan had a 2-1 lead. For Pakistan, Rana Waheed scored a hat-trick while Sufyan Khan scored two, and Ghazanfar Ali and Muhammad Imad scored one goal each. Pakistan finished second in Pool B with 12 points, while Malaysia remained in the top position with 15 points. Pakistan won 4 out of 5 matches in the pool, while the Pakistan hockey team lost against Malaysia. Pakistan scored 28 goals in five matches while 8 goals were scored against Pakistan. The first semi-final will be played between Pakistan and India on October 1st, while the second semi-final between Malaysia and Korea will also be on the same date.
