In the final group-stage match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, India posted 249/9 in 50 overs, setting New Zealand a target of 250 runs to win.
After opting to field first, New Zealand made early inroads as India lost Shubman Gill (2), Rohit Sharma (15), and Virat Kohli (11) with just 30 runs on the board. However, Shreyas Iyer anchored the innings with a superb 79, while Hardik Pandya (45) and Axar Patel (42) added valuable runs in the middle and lower order.
For New Zealand, Matt Henry was the standout performer, delivering a brilliant spell to claim five wickets, restricting India from crossing the 250-mark.
