Pakistan leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed has for the first time secured the top spot in the ICC T20 Bowlers Rankings. Abrar Ahmed is the fifth Pakistani bowler to become No.1 in T20 bowling rankings. Before him, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Imad Wasim and Shahid Afridi have achieved this honour.
Afghanistan star spinner Rashid Khan, who had held the top position for the last six months, has slipped to second place by a margin of just one rating point. Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz is at 8th position in bowling, while Salman Mirza has dropped one spot to 19th. England’s Jamie Overton made significant progress, jumping 47 places to achieve his career-best 6th position. In the T20 All-rounders Rankings, Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza retains the first position, while Pakistan’s Saim Ayub also retains his second position. England’s Will Jacks has moved up three places to third.
