The International Cricket Council has announced the Team of the Tournament for the Champions Trophy. Out of the 8 teams participating in the tournament, only 3 players are included in the Team of the Tournament. The 12-member Team of the Tournament includes 6 players from India, 4 from New Zealand and 2 from Afghanistan.
None of the players from the tournament’s two semi-finalist teams, South Africa and Australia, made it to the team, while no player from host Pakistan is included in the Team of the Tournament.
India’s Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami and Varun Chakraborty, along with Acharya Patel, New Zealand’s Richin Ravindra, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner and Matt Henry, and Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran and Azmatullah Umarzai, were able to make it to the Team of the Tournament.
