In the allotted fifty overs, the New Zealand team could only score 251 runs. Daryl Mitchell scored the highest score. His scored 63 runs.
India got off to a solid start in pursuit of the target, with openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill putting on a 105-run partnership. Shubman Gill was dismissed for 31, while Rohit Sharma scored 76. Virat Kohli was dismissed for one, Hardik Pandya scored 18 and Axar Patel scored 29, while Shreyas Iyer scored 48. KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 34. Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell took two wickets each for New Zealand.
