New Zealand’s Tim Southee Leave Test captaincy

Tim Southee step down as test skipper of New Zealand cricket team just before the India tour. The announcement comes just few days after New Zealand lost 2-0 in the test series against Sri Lanka.New Zealand cricket announced Tom Latham as a full time captain. Latham’s first assignment as captain will be the upcoming test series against India.
Tim Southee speaking about his decision to step down from captaincy he said it was taken in the best interest of team. Captaining the BLACKCAPS in test is so special for me it’s an honors and privilege he said. I have always try to put the team first throughout my career and I believe this move is the best for the team.
