Chasing South Africa’s target of 316 runs, the Afghan team was bowled out for 208 runs. In the match played at the National Stadium Karachi, South Africa won the toss and decided to bat against Afghanistan. South Africa’s first wicket fell on 28 runs and Tony de Zozzi returned to the pavilion on 11 runs. He was followed by Ryan Raklinton and Tumba Bauma who scored half-centuries to take the match steadily forward.
However, Bauma was out by Mohammad Nabi on a total of 157, he played an innings of 58 runs. After that, Rickleton scored a brilliant century and was dismissed on 103 runs. Van der Duysen and Aiden Markram returned to the pavilion scoring 52 and 52 runs respectively.
South Africa scored 315 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Mohammad Nabi of Afghanistan got two wickets, Fazal Haq Farooq, Azmatullah Umarzai and Noor Ahmed dismissed one player each.
Afghanistan team scored 208 runs in response to South Africa’s 316. Rahmat Shah scored 90. Apart from him, no player could score more than twenty runs.
For South Africa, Kagiso Rabada got three, Lungi Ngidi got two, Wiaan Mulder got two, Marco Jansen and Keshav Maharaj got one wicket each.
