In the second match of the ICC Champions Trophy, India defeated Bangladesh by 6 wickets. The match held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium where Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat against India.
Bangladesh team was bowled out for 228 runs in the last over. India achieved the target of 229 runs in the 47th over at the loss of 4 wickets.
Bengal Tigers’ innings did not start well and half the team. 5 players got out for only 35 runs. After the fall of 5 wickets Zakir Ali and Tawheed Hardoy made a valuable partnership of 154 runs, on a total score of 189 Zakir Ali was dismissed for 68 runs. Tawheed Hardoy completed a magnificent 100 runs and was dismissed in the last over, besides Tanzid Hasan 25 and Rashad Hussain. scored 18 runs, Soumya Sarkar and Najamul Hussain were dismissed for zero.
Mushfiqur Rahim and Rasghan Hasan were also dismissed without scoring any runs. For India, Mohammad Shami dismissed 5 players, Harshat Rana got 3 wickets and Akshar Patel got 2 wickets.
India captain Rohit Sharma opened the innings with Shibman Gill. Rohit Sharma scored 41 and Virat Kohli scored 22 runs, Shreyas Iyer scored 15 and Akshar Patel scored 8 runs. Shibman Gill remained unbeaten with 101 runs, he hit 2 sixes and 9 fours in his innings. KL Rahul remained not out with 41 runs. Rashad Hussain of Bangladesh dismissed 2 players, Tasin Ahmad and Mustafizur Rahman got one wicket each. Shabman Gul was named player of the match for his batting performance.
