Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem missed out on a medal in the javelin throw final at the Commonwealth Games, with the gold medal going to Sri Lankan javelin thrower Rumesh Tharanga. In the final in Glasgow, Arshad Nadeem could not produce his best. His first throw was a foul, while his second and third throws measured 77.41m and 75.39m respectively. He finished 9th out of 12 athletes in the final. Sri Lanka’s *Rumesh Tharanga won the gold medal with a best throw of 89.75m. India’s Neeraj Chopra finished second with a best throw of 85.83m, and India’s Yashveer Singh took bronze. A total of 12 athletes, including Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, competed in the javelin final. The defending champion had entered the event to defend his gold medal.
