Pakistan won the gold medal in its category at the World Chess Olympiad 2026. The Pakistani chess team secured first position in Category D of the World Chess Olympiad. In the World Chess Olympiad held in Samarkand, the Pakistani chess team drew against Egypt and Yemen. Pakistan faced defeat at the hands of Colombia and South Africa. Pakistan achieved success with an improvement of 29 places in the World Chess Olympiad. President of Chess Federation of Pakistan, Zeeshan Naqvi, attended the closing ceremony of the Olympiad. Zeeshan Naqvi said that with government support, Pakistan will achieve more successes in chess. The Pakistan Open team scored 12 match points and 162 game points in the Olympiad.
