Pakistan won 10 medals including 2 gold, 1 silver and 7 bronze medals on the first day of the South Asian Karate Championship that started in Bangladesh. On the first day of the championship in Mirpur, Pakistan’s Mir Hamza Kasi won the gold medal. Mir Hamza Kasi won the gold medal in minus 75 kg. Taha Mustafa brought Pakistan the second gold medal in the minus 63 kg class junior category. Five women’s karatekas from Pakistan won bronze medals, with Pakistan’s Anita Fatima, Hafiza Iqra Munawar, Aqsa Azam, Laiba Zia and Rabia Farooq winning bronze medals. In the men’s event, Pakistan’s Mirwaiz Khan won a silver medal, Shamsh Iftikhar and Mir Hamza won bronze medals.
