PSL: Multan Franchise Sold to Walee Technologies for Rs 2.45 Billion

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan has been sold to Walee Technologies for Rs 2.45 billion for a period of 10 years. The auction ceremony was held in Lahore and was attended by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.Former PCB Chairman Najam Sethi was also present at the auction, while Pakistan’s legendary batsman Zaheer Abbas attended the event as well. Lahore Qalandars’ owners Sameen Rana and Atif Rana were among those present at the auction held at the Expo Centre Lahore.

A total of five bidders participated in the auction for the Multan franchise. The base price for the team was set at Rs 1.82 billion. Walee Technologies successfully acquired the franchise for Rs 2.45 billion, making Multan the most expensive PSL franchise to date. According to the PCB, six proposals were received within the stipulated time. After a detailed and transparent evaluation, five bidders were declared technically qualified and took part in the auction. It is worth noting that the former owner of Multan Sultans, Ali Tareen, declined to renew the 10-year ownership agreement, following which the PCB announced the auction of the franchise.
