England defeated Pakistan in the 3rd Test as well, completing their first-ever home series whitewash against Pakistan. On Day 4 of the Test played in Birmingham, England began their innings chasing a target of 130 runs. Pakistan’s Mohammad Abbas made the match interesting by taking the first two wickets. However, Jordan Cox scored an unbeaten 59 and captain Joe Root remained not out on 62, guiding the team to victory.
England chased down the target with the loss of just 2 wickets, handing Pakistan an 8-wicket defeat. With this win, England whitewashed Pakistan in a home series for the very first time. Pakistan scored 133 in the first innings, while England replied with 453, taking a lead of 320 runs. Pakistan then scored 449 in the second innings, setting England a target of 130 runs.
