Pakistan’s Mohammad Asif has qualified for the semi-finals of the ongoing Asian 6 Red Snooker Championship in Colombo. In the quarter-finals of the Asian Six Red Snooker Championship, Mohammad Asif made a brilliant start against Malaysia’s Lim Kak Leong and won the first three frames by scores of 0-67, 21-41 and 19-27 to take a 3-0 lead.
The Malaysian Qwest made a comeback in the fourth frame and took advantage of a black ball miss from Muhammad Asif in the fifth frame to further reduce his deficit to 2-3.
Muhammad Asif improved his lead once again by winning the sixth frame, but in the seventh frame, Lim Kak Leong did not allow Asif to pot a single ball. In the eighth frame of the best-of-9 quarter-final, the two players also remained in a tight contest until the final balls. In the last moments, the Malaysian player missed the pink ball, after which Asif potted the ball to complete the victory.
