The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced that it will not send its team to India for the T20 World Cup. According to an official statement issued by the BCB, an emergency meeting of the Board of Directors was held this afternoon to review recent developments related to the T20 World Cup scheduled to be hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The statement said that the meeting included a detailed review of the situation that has emerged over the past 24 hours. Following deliberations, the Board of Governors decided that the Bangladesh national team will not travel to India. The BCB has formally informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) of this decision and is awaiting a response, expressing hope that the ICC will understand the situation and respond promptly.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s adviser on sports also announced that Bangladesh will not tour India to participate in the World Cup, confirming that the decision was officially declared by the Bangladesh Cricket Board today. He said the decision is welcomed, as it was made in response to what he described as the aggressive and sectarian policies of the Indian cricket authorities. Tensions between the Indian and Bangladeshi cricket boards increased after fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman was released from the Indian Premier League (IPL) under pressure from Indian extremist groups.
