Former Sri Lankan Test cricketer D. S. de Silva has passed away. The leg-spinner represented Sri Lanka in 12 Test matches and 41 One Day Internationals. He was a member of Sri Lanka’s first-ever Test team, which played its inaugural Test match in 1982.

D. S. de Silva also served as the Chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket’s Interim Administration from 2009 to 2011. Born on June 11, 1942, he was 83 years old at the time of his death. He passed away in London.
