Indian women’s cricketer Smriti Mandhana has broken a 28-year-old world record in ODIs. Indian batsman Smriti Mandhana has broken the world record for scoring the most runs in a calendar year in women’s ODIs.

Smriti Mandhana achieved this feat in a match against South Africa during the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. She achieved this honor by hitting a six in the 8th over of the match.

Along with this, Smriti Mandhana broke the 28-year-old world record of an Australian cricketer by scoring the most runs in 18 ODIs in 2025 with the help of 4 centuries. Earlier, the record of the most runs in a calendar year in women’s ODI cricket was held by former Australian cricketer Belinda Clarke, who scored 970 runs in the year 1997.
