Pakistan Test Captain Shan Masood Creates a New National Record

by Shahrooz Ahmad

Pakistan’s Test team captain, Shan Masood, has created a new national record. He registered the fastest first-class double century in Pakistan’s history. Playing for SNGPL, Shan Masood completed his double hundred in just 177 balls against Sahir Associates.

Shan Masood has now become the fastest Pakistani batter to score a double century in first-class cricket. Previously, the record for Pakistan’s fastest first-class double century was held by Inzamam-ul-Haq, who scored a double hundred off 188 balls against Oxford and Cambridge University in a first-class tour match in 1992. Shan Masood’s double century is also the fastest first-class double hundred ever scored on Pakistani soil.
