Pakistani Athletes Performed Brilliantly in Sydney Marathon.

Pakistani runners performed brilliantly in the Sydney Marathon in Australia. Pakistani-born Australian Ali Zaidi was the fastest Pakistani runner in the event with a time of 3 hours 5 minutes 33 seconds, while Islamabad’s Bilal Ahsan completed the Sydney Marathon in 3 hours 15 minutes 3 seconds.

Pakistan’s Fahad Mukhtar completed his seventh World Major Marathon with a timing of 3 hours 29 minutes. Karachi’s Faisal Shafi paid a humble tribute to the Pakistan Army during the Sydney Marathon and set a new record by completing the marathon race in a record 3 hours 40 minutes 13 seconds while wearing light military clothing.

Guinness World Records has also confirmed Faisal Shafi’s record for completing the fastest marathon in military uniform at the Sydney Marathon. British female runner of Pakistani origin, Huma Rehman, completed the distance in 3 hours 38 minutes.

A total of 36 Pakistanis and overseas Pakistanis participated in the Sydney Marathon, while 16 runners completed the 42.195 km distance in less than 4 hours.

After completing the Sydney Marathon, a total of 8 Pakistani runners have received the ‘Seventh Star’ award, which is given for completing all seven major marathons in the world (Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, New York and Sydney). These proud Pakistani runners include Fahad Mukhtar, Hamid Butt, Huma Rehman, Dr. Salman Khan, Jamal Khan, Yasri Bukhari, Ziad Rahim and Faisal Shafi.
