by Shahrooz Ahmad

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has submitted the names of its preliminary squad to the ICC for the T20 World Cup. Along with the initial 15-member squad, the names of reserve players have also been sent to the ICC. The PCB can make changes to the squad without ICC approval until 31 January. After that date, any changes will require approval from the ICC Technical Committee.

According to sources, the PCB plans to announce the final squads for the World Cup and the series against Australia after the series against Sri Lanka, as the board wants to assess the performance of one or two players during the Sri Lanka tour. The preliminary list includes players from the Sri Lanka tour, as well as Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Haris Rauf. The ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled to begin on 7 February and will be hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Pakistan will play all of its matches in Sri Lanka.
