Pakistan cricket team fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has reacted to the absence of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan from the Pakistani squad in the Asia Cup. Babar and Rizwan, who have represented Pakistan in every major tournament since the 2021 T20 World Cup, have both been out of the Pakistani team in the shorter format since the series against South Africa in December 2024 due to poor form.
Babar Azam and Rizwan were also not included in the Asia Cup squad, which was strongly criticized by their fans and former cricketers. However, Shaheen emphasized support for young players but described Babar and Rizwan as world-class players.
Shaheen said during the ongoing training session at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday that I may not be a part of the team in the future, everyone should get a chance.
